Frequentlyasked questions

When should my puppy come in for its first groom?

Most puppies should come in for their first groom at 12–16 weeks of age, once they’ve received their initial round of vaccinations.

Starting early helps your puppy get comfortable with the grooming process, including bathing, brushing, nail trims, and handling. Even if a full haircut isn’t needed yet, a gentle “puppy introduction groom” builds positive experiences and sets the foundation for stress-free grooming throughout their life.

How often should my dog be groomed?

Most dogs need grooming every 4–8 weeks, depending on breed, coat type, and lifestyle.

Can I stay and watch while you groom my pet?

For safety and focus, we typically ask pet parents not to stay and watch during the grooming session. Many pets become more excited or anxious when they can see their owner, which can make grooming more stressful and less safe.

Rest assured, your pet will be cared for by trained professionals in a calm, controlled environment. If you have any concerns, we’re always happy to discuss the process with you before the appointment.

How long will my dog be there?

We aim for:
1.5 – 3 hours for a full groom
1 – 1.5 hours for a bath and tidy
1 hour for a bath

If you need your dog back by a certain time, let us know when you make your appointment and we can accommodate. Please always leave extra time for hugs and kisses! We always text/call 15 minutes before we are done with their glam. Dogs must be collected within 30 mins post groom, an additional fee may be added for daycare

What if my dog is anxious/nervous or aggressive?

Experienced groomers use gentle handling and patience. Let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. For these dogs, we have a 1on1 service, this will come at an extra charge. Please contact the salon for more information.

What if my dog is matted?

Depending on the severity of the matting, it may require a shorter cut for your dog’s comfort and extra time. Extra charges may apply due to time and care required. During the consultation this will be discussed with you.

Should I walk my dog before grooming?

Please make sure your dog has had a short walk beforehand. This helps release excess energy and, most importantly, gives them a chance to go to the toilet before their appointment. This keeps them comfortable during grooming and helps avoid any additional cleaning fees.

Do you use cages or drying cabinets?

No – never. We’re a 100% cage free salon and don’t use drying cabinets. We utilise professional standing dryers and do not use drying cabinets. This allows for continuous supervision, controlled airflow, and individualised temperature adjustment for a safer experience. It also enables us to properly hand-dry and brush each pet during the process, resulting in a higher-quality finish

How do payments and deposits work?

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. The remaining balance is due in full at the end of the session upon collection.

If you are not personally collecting your dog, full payment must be made prior to the dog leaving the premises. Payments can be made over the phone if required before the dog is collected.

What happens if I’m late picking up my dog?

If pick-up is delayed by more than 30 minutes, a £15 per hour daycare fee will apply, we’ll keep your dog comfy in the meantime.

If collected after closing time, there will be a £20 charge, per 10 mins late.
